Civil engineering is the mother branch of all other branches of engineering. Today we have almost concrete jungle surrounding us. Varieties of constructions like bridges, flyovers, shopping malls, high rise structures, monuments etc. are now becoming identities of a well developed city and/or nation. As the population is increasing, infrastructural requirements are bound to happen.

The career opportunities available to civil engineers are surveyor and valuator in Govt. and private sectors, architectural engineering, interior designing, as project engineer/ manager, R&D, Town Planner in Govt. Sector Etc. The Civil Engineering Department offers 4 years UG Programe in Civil engineering. It provides wide spectrum of construction and planning, structural design, water resources, surveying, architect and environmental studies. The Mechanics of Solids (MOS) laboratory houses various material testing machines such as Universal Testing Machine, Hardness tester, Impact testing equipment etc. The Surveying laboratory is equipped with instruments for both surveying and leveling. The main feature of the undergraduate course is an extensive practical training and hands-on-experience.
