Mechanical Engineering is one of the oldest branches of engineering and essentially a core one without which any industry would be handicapped. The discipline offers expertise in the areas of manufacturing process, thermal engineering, industrial engineering, R&D, design (CAD/CAM/CAE), refrigeration and air-conditioning, automobiles, pneumatics & hydraulics, robotics etc. The trained students may comfortably face the challenges by putting their skills and learning to work.

The department offers UG and PG programe in Mechanical Engineering. It is in the process of establishment of state of the art laboratories. Central workshop is spread over 1134 sqm housing carpentry shop, fitting shop, black smithy and tin-smithy, plumbing-shop, machine-shop and foundry shop. Element of Mechanical Engineering laboratory houses various models of automobile parts, boilers and engine-components.
